Hey hey! Spring is in the air, and although playing outside and patio get-togethers are out of the cards, we want to make the best of it. Coronavirus has isolated us and while you may be indoors and with the kids more often than usual, we are here to lift your spirits and remind you that the spring season has much to offer for you and your family at home! Whether you celebrate Easter, Passover or simply want some fun activities to do with your family we’ve got you covered.
We have collected some ideas that will keep you and the family busy with limited supplies or access to shopping. These DIY’s will brighten up your home for spring and keep you occupied!
Festive Treat Holders
If you’re having PassOver or Easter dinner at home with immediate family this year, we’ve got a couple creative paper DIY ideas that little ones can help with. The road to making these crafts does not need to look the same for everyone. Use what you have and create something that is unique for you. We used card stock and painted it in the colours we needed, but if you have craft paper or card stock, that will work just as well. Here are a few videos of the projects coming together.

DIY Napkin Ring
Many of us seem to be resorting back to old ways of keeping ourselves entertained during self-isolation, and cooking and baking is at the top of the list. These DIY Napkin Rings cover both. Paint, cut up and gather muffin tin liners to create wonderful place cards for your long-weekend meal. These are white muffin liners with some coloured markers for detailing. The leaf and ring were made with an empty toilet paper roll and were simply painted green with kids craft paint! Check out the video of the flowers coming together.

Easy Easter Painted Rocks
For those times where you feel like you don’t have enough for the kids to do, or you want a family activity that can hold a memory during a holiday. This one’s for you; These painted rocks can be customized in so many ways and can even be an activity for any holiday or weekend. Take some time outdoors to collect some smooth surface rocks and any other cool new finds you come across and make something out of nothing! Take this opportunity to have fun with nothing more than paint and nature’s best..

Jazzed Up Plastic Eggs
Dying eggs for Easter is a tradition in many homes, but this year we were completely inspired by Good Housekeeping’s roundup of alternative egg designs. In the interest of not wasting food, we opted for old plastic eggs and gave them a facelift inspired by The House That Lars Built. These Botanical eggs are an earthy alternative to the bright saturated colours of the season and we are all for it! Here is our version of these eggs. Have fun and take your artistic side for a walk with your own version of these eggs.

We are all going through a lot, and now, more than ever, family and friendship are so important. Take some time to make this long weekend special. Happy Easter & Happy Passover to everyone!
